Goodbye to Aarons Eatzz -- Retail

Well, here's something disappointing. Aarons Eatzz (Aaron's Glatt Kosher Market) in Kearny Mesa on Convoy at Balboa closed its doors. Owner Aaron Hutman says that they have moved to an interim kitchen facility, and still provide strictly Glatt kosher butchery services and catering under the supervision of the local Vaad Harabonim. At some point soon, they'll announce an Internet shopping site.

But, no more retail shop or deli. You can still reach them at the store number, 858-636-7979.

  1. I believe this listing is in error, Aaron did not close he sold the business to new owners, the business does still maintain the same items AAaron carried as well as more kosher products.

  2. No, it's not in error. The information comes from Aaron himself. And, I had stopped by the store before that; everything is gone.

  3. If there is another store that has opened where Aaron's was and the new owner would like to invite me to stop in, I'd be happy to do so. Attacking me and calling me a liar is not the approach I would take to encourage a writer and radio show host to visit a new shop and introduce it to the public. All anyone had to do was tell me that, in fact, after I had stopped by and seen an empty shop that a new store opened named "XX" and to stop by. I can't answer for what Aaron told me. All I know is that in early May I saw a locked, empty shop where his had been, no explanation, no sign of life at that time and no one else to ask about a possible future. Over a month later I get verbally attacked.

This has been a hugely disappointing exchange. I would hope that this is not coming from the new owners and am saddened that anyone would feel they need to stoop so low.

  4. Actually this comes from a concerned citizen that feels bad for the new owners of the business. The new owners are a young couple whom are very passionate and customer service oriented, but have tried to make the establishment a nice inviting place. I am sorry about getting on to a rocky beginning, I just want the Israeli community as well as other to know that this establishment still exist and they carry the same products Aaron did in the past.

  5. Fair enough. Thank you for the apology. Please know that I will make a point of going over there to check it out and will report back in as soon as I can.
